Quartz (var. smoky), Orthoclase

Baveno, Verbano-Cusio-Ossola Province, Piedmont, Italy

14×5,7×5,4 cm.  (longest Quartz 4,8 cm., longest Orthoclase 3,5 cm.)

From a large and old Baveno collection, here for sale a selected and rare specimen with striking display composed by lustrous Orthoclase showing double color, snow white and pink due to the iron oxide presence; in evidence there are a series of smoky Quartz crystals in perfect chromatic contrast with the Orthoclase. Baveno is one of the most well known feldspar localities in the world and today is very difficult to obtein old classic specimens showing these characteristics.
